I didn’t take a picture yesterday, so this will have to do.
Having liberated myself from the knitted wrap deadline, I’ve turned my creative energies towards other projects. Specifically, two extremely tight deadline projects: a mural and a sleeping bag.

There’s a wall in our entryway that we’ve been meaning to paint since we moved in. And now we really need to do it, because we’re getting our new floors installed at the end of the month. So we chose “mural” instead of “color” and now we’re busting out a smallish mural in the next 10 days (which is totally do-able, because we’re fast painters).

Then I decided to make a sleeping bag for Otto for our trip (we’re staying at three different houses over five nights, so I want him to have a constant sleeping place that travels around with him). I took him into the studio to hunt through my fabric, and we found an old green and white bamboo print flat sheet. I showed it to him and told him the print was bamboo, and he replied “panda?” (because Panda Go Panda! is one of his favorite cartoons), and I said “do you want a panda sleeping bag?” He tried out the phrase, but doesn’t know what a sleeping bag is, so I told him it was kind of like a quilt, at which point his eyes went wide, he grabbed the bamboo fabric from my hands, wrapped it around himself and started rolling on the floor saying “panda quilt!” over and over. So now I’m making him a “panda quilt” (sleeping bag). I’m pretty sure he’s going to love it.
